What is a Charrette?

What is a Charrette?
A charrette is a holistic, collaborative planning process that harnesses the talents and energies of all interested parties to create and support a feasible plan. It is implemented as a collaborative design and planning workshop that gives local stakeholders and the community a chance to learn what's happening and to provide input. During this time, a multidisciplinary team including planners, architects, and engineers can collaborate with citizens, town staff and officials to help bring forth a vision that will guide the land use for the U.S. 13 Corridor.

You may also wish to watch the YouTube video NCI Charrette System(TM): Stories of Community Transformation. It is a documentary showing charrettes in action.
