Bills are due upon receipt. Late Charges will be assessed to any account not paid in full by 4:30 PM on the 20th of each month. If the 20th falls on a weekend and/or holiday, payment must be received in our office no later than 4:30 PM on the next regularly scheduled business day.

The drop box in front of Town Hall, as well as the one on the counter in the office, are emptied Monday through Friday promptly at 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Any payments put in either box after 4:30 PM on the 20th (or the next scheduled business day if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday) are considered late and will be assessed penalties.

Effective March 1, 2009, the utility late fee will be 10% of the unpaid account balance.  To avoid being disconnected for non-payment, customers may request an extension until the end of the month. Extensions are subject to approval. Late fees will continue to accrue on the account. The town also offers Budget Billing throughout the year to qualifying customers.

To sign up for utility services, customers must complete an Application for Utility Service. Please be sure to follow the instructions provided.  There is a non-refundable application fee of $25. Customers are also required to pay a deposit when signing up for service. The deposit amount is based on the type of heat. The deposit for gas heat is $200 and the deposit for electric heat is $300. For new businesses, please contact the Business Office for deposit amount.

* We request that customers arrive at Town Hall prior to 4:00 PM in order to sign up for services.

We accept MasterCard, and Discover as well as debit cards with the MasterCard logo. The town also offers Direct Debit for utility payments.

Miscellaneous Information
For customers who may be watering lawns, washing vehicles, etc. a second water meter may be purchased at Town Hall for $165.00. Once the meter has been installed and calibrated, customers would only be charged for water usage only.
