The Town of Smyrna is accepting applications from our customers for the voluntarily purchase of green energy blocks at competitive rates for the next planning period of June 1, 2009 – May 31, 2010. The green energy blocks are generated from non-carbon based, qualifying renewable resources.  By subscribing to this program, you will be helping to improve the environment by reducing pollution and consumption of non-renewable resources.

For this fourth subscription year, we are offering subscriptions in 100 kWh blocks at a premium price of $0.21 per block each month for a one year period.  Please note this is an additional cost to your current energy usage costs. The amount of green energy blocks are limited and will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis.  As this program continues to evolve, we will adjust the amount of green energy subscriptions available based on the demand from customers for green energy.  If subscriptions exceed available green power, those who do not receive green energy blocks this year will be placed on a priority list for next year.
