Blackbird Forest

Located on Blackbird Forest Road, some of the activities available at the Blackbird Forest are hunting, hiking, and camping.

Bombay Hook

Located east of Smyrna on Whitehall Neck Road along the Delaware Bay coast, Bombay Hook is a national wildlife refuge. It is a 16,000 acres and includes:

  • Fields
  • Forests
  • Ponds
  • Salt marshes

The refuge offers many activities for residents and visitors alike, including:

  • Auto tours
  • Bird watching
  • Fishing, boating, and golfing at Garrison Lake (located on Route 13)
  • Nature programs
  • Visitor center with gift shop
  • Walking tours

The Allee House at the refuge is one of the best-preserved examples of and early built farmhouse in Delaware. It stands as it has since 1753 and is on the National Register of Historic Homes. The Allee House is open Saturdays and Sundays from 2 pm to 5 pm in the spring and fall months, and by appointment, and admission is free.

Delaware's Beaches

Direct access to the beaches can be gained from Route 13 and Route 1.

Green Meadows Park

Green Meadows Park is located on North Albright Drive.

Lake Como

Located on South Main Street, some of the activities at Lake Como include swimming and boating.

Little League & Little Lass Park

Located on Duck Creek Parkway, Little League and Little Lass Park is home to the Little League baseball team and Little Lass softball team.

Municipal Park

Municipal Park is located at North Main Street.

Skateboard Park

Smyrna's Skateboard Park is located at Municipal Park on North Main Street. Hours of operation are daily from 8 am until 10 pm. Registration is required for all users. Skaters may register at Smyrna Town Hall, 27 South Market Street Plaza, during normal business hours or at the Smyrna Police Department, located at 325 West Glenwood Avenue.

Skaters under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied at registration by a parent or legal guardian. Registration is free and requires proof of identity and signing of a registration form and waiver and release of all claims and assumptions of risk.

Woodland Beach

Located on Route 6 (Woodland Beach Road), Woodland Beach offers fishing and boating. Developed as a resort area, the beach once featured a boardwalk, concessions stand, rides, and a dance hall. Today, a fishing pier and a boat ramp are available for recreation.
