Chief's Message

My name is Torrie James, I have been the Chief of Police since April 2019 and with the Smyrna Police Department since 2000. It is a great honor to serve as Chief of Police in the town that I grew up in. This community is near and dear to my heart and I cherish the great relationships between the police, the local businesses, and the citizens. If you are a member of this town, you know as well as I do, that we have a very close-knit family here. We always help one another and do our best to make sure those in need are taken care of. As the Chief, I vow to uphold the values of the community while providing a safe environment for you and your family.

The Police Department consists of 32 full-time officers and 11 full-time civilians who are dedicated to our missions of striving to be better than we were yesterday. Together we will keep Smyrna an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family. As always, thank you for your support.
