RIGHT TO APPEAL REAL PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO TAX BILLS PURSUANT § 9.7 OF THE SMYRNA TOWN CHARTER Owners of real property situated in the Town of Smyrna are hereby placed on notice that the tax assessments, including all additions to tax bills, for real property located in Smyrna are available for review at Town Hall between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Any property owners seeking to appeal their real property tax assessment and/or any additions to the tax bills may file a written appeal with the Town no later than 4:30 pm on Monday, March 31, 2025. Appeals received after this deadline will not be considered. Appeals shall be in writing and may be submitted by mail or in person at Town Hall located at 27 S. Market Street Plaza, Smyrna, Delaware 19977 or submitted via email at property@smyrna.delaware.gov All appeals shall include the following information: name of the property owner(s), property address, grounds for appeal, phone number for property owner(s), names and positions of witnesses who will testify, name of legal representation (if any), and the time needed for the appeal (not to exceed 20 minutes). All tax assessment appeals will be heard by the Assessment Appeals Committee and the Town Council beginning at 6 pm on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Smyrna Town Hall (address above).
