Absentee Voting


In order to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot, registered voters must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be an eligible non-resident
  • Be in public service of the United States government or the State of Delaware
  • Be sick or temporarily / permanently physically disabled

You may also be eligible to vote by absentee ballot if you cannot go to your polling place for one of the following reasons:

  • Due to the nature of your business or occupation (this includes students and those providing dependent care)
  • Due to the tenets or teachings of your religion
  • You are absent from the district while on vacation
  • You are incarcerated


You can download the Absentee Ballot Request Form (PDF) or can be requested at Town Hall. Fill out the appropriate sections and submit the request to Town Hall. Once the absentee ballot request is received, not more than 60 days or less than four days from the time of the scheduled election, Town Hall will mail the requester their official absentee ballot.
